The Wingfield family business has been the ministry, and this book contains preached messages from four Wingfield pastors who served churches in Western Pennsylvania. Rev. Dr. Richard Wingfield is a pastor in a family tree filled with men called to the ministry. In this book, Dr. Wingfield has assembled, edited and commented on sermons prepared and delivered by his grandfather, uncle, and father, and concludes this volume with a sample of his own preached messages. As you read through four generations of preaching, you will notice how each preacher was influenced by the times during which they preached, but also see a common thread of honor for the word of God as the source of truth and comfort for the weary soul.
