Urban Heroes: Volume 3: Stories of Ordinary Pittsburgher Residents Who do Extraordinary Things

Pittsburgh is a great city to live in because great people live in the city. They go beyond the call of duty to help Pittsburgh’s schools, churches, businesses and social service agencies not only survive but thrive. In 2010, the Center for Urban Biblical Ministry (CUBM) honored its first class of Urban Heroes - people in Western Pennsylvania who seemed like ordinary people but, upon closer inspection, were found to be doing extraordinary things. In this third volume, you will read their stories and find motivation to do what they have done and continue to do. These Heroes are parents and grandparents, pastors and social workers, widowed wives and faithful daughters - all of whom have made a positive difference in the quality of life in Pittsburgh. Their stories are still being written as they pursue dreams and a vision that keep them going every day, climbing higher as they fulfill their purpose to bear fruit where they are planted. As you read, perhaps you will think of someone to nominate who you feel is an Urban Hero to be included in Urban Heroes 4.
