Doodling is often a great way to express ones subconscious inner thoughts, without specifically focusing on the design outcome. This sort of free flow, semi-conscious form of expression can often be observed when someone is talking on the phone, or waiting on hold. Doodling is great for forming patterns while passing the time which can later be further worked out into completed concepts. Many known designers began their great works by doodling out the ideals before they took final shape.
