Out of the Darkness is the true story of the early life of Patricia Bennett LaPrise.

It has been published with as little editing as possible, to allow readers to truly experience and understand her difficult, often heartbreaking childhood and teen years, her struggles as a young adult, and finally the strength of faith that helped her overcome her anger and bitterness to find her way back to the light and love of God.

Asked why she wrote what must have been a very difficult and painful memoir, Ms. LaPrise said, I felt the need to open up about my personal struggle with heartbreak, anger, and bitterness which threatened to destroy me, with the hope it might help others find their way back to God, and for them to know God’s light is brighter than any dark place and that He is working for our good even when we are not aware of it.
