Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) describes a set of conditions in which the intestines become inflamed. Ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease are the two main types of IBD. The symptoms range from mild to severe and depend on the part of the intestinal tract involved. Abdominal cramps, diarrhea, iron deficiency anemia, weight loss, etc. are some common symptoms.
