Safety of food and agricultural products is a topic of essential interest in developing countries. This book talks about the policies dealing with both the latest advancements and growing concerns in the domain of agricultural environment and food safety. Reforms and policies undertaken in China in parallel with its rise as a potential superpower have been taken into account as a case study in this book. The primary theories have been taken from Kanshokufuji, a new concept concerned with a secure food system in a stable agro-environment. This unique concept was proposed by a reputed researcher in this field; Prof. Nanseki, Kyushu University, China. It indicates that food demand and supply cannot be mutually exclusive in a location, given the significance of maintaining suitable conditions for sustenance of environment and biodiversity in the region. It is an essential concept for handling environmental issues and related challenges in food safety. Keeping this in mind, several studies were carried out in rural and urban China at the Research Institute for East Asia Environments (RIEAE), Kyushu University to analyze the current state of environment, food, and agriculture in the country.
