Banned from their home in the Navajo Nation in Arizona as a result of their disobedience to their parents, Eliza and Alex Trellis work hard to build a new life for themselves and their two sons. Although life is a daily struggle, the boys grow up relatively happy and healthy–until the oldest son Cameron starts to become envious of his younger brother Austin, who seems to have more advantages than he does. Austin is deemed gifted and talented as a child and put on the fast track in school, then, when the two brothers play in a rock band, he becomes a solo star, and ultimately he marries the girl his brother first loved. Jealous that his brother seems to unfairly gain the attention of their parents, the accolades of the world and the love of his girl, Cameron seeks to find justice and get rid of his brother once and for all.
