First-time author Deahdra was motivated to share her memories of working as a Hollywood costumer by a friend (and mentor), who convinced her to write the stories for everyone, not just a log for her son. She says, My intentions were to write about the various times that I was away from home being the absentee mom, and backing up the many photo albums taken over the years. I wanted him to know who these movie stars were and to let him know of the places I traveled. After my mentor convinced me to just tell my stories, he kept persisting and pushing me until completion.
