Exploring Life and Career: Introduction to Social Health

Exploring Life and Career is an introductory, comprehensive text of short, easy-to-follow sections that are designed to help young teens learn about themselves and develop personal success skills. Included are topics such as interactions with others, food and clothing, and career options. Age-appropriate social issues, particularly those involved with technology and sustainability, are addressed. All 16 career clusters are summarized with other work-related content. Special features relate content to academic skills, financial literacy, health and safety, the environment, or community involvement. Hands-on FCCLA projects, which can be expanded for competitive events, are found in every chapter. An appendix on self-care describes situations students may face when left without adult supervision, providing an outlet for discussion and guidance.
