How to Survive the Spiritual Jungle

It’s a jungle out there, Ed!

That’s what my friend, Jeff, said to me recently at a Bible Study. He wasn’t exaggerating, and he certainly wasn’t a naIve type believer. He was just honestly and unguardedly referring to the difficult struggles and stresses of the environment in which we live. All around us, the onslaught of social and political liberalism, sexual immorality, and amoral lifestyles are waging an all out war against Biblical faith and values. Trying to live the Christian life with spiritual purity and without compromise has never been more challenging.

Christian principles and character have been an essential part of our early American roots, particularly in the writing of the Constitution and in the foundation of law. Our schools used the Bible as a text book, and politicians constantly referred with trust to its moral principles for direction. Prayer was part of the school day, and belief in God was espoused even at the college level. But, liberalism has destroyed this and replaced it with a new and inclusive religion…political correctness.

So, how do we live for Christ within a culture that has turned its back on its own spiritual foundation?
