Summertime in Philly captures the author’s vivid memories of growing up in southwest Philadelphia. She talks about playing in the fire hydrant, eating ice cream from the Mr. Tastee truck and dancing at block parties! Cindy Robinson-Brown was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated from Temple University and briefly attended Widener School of Law. She and her husband later moved to Delaware. Her 20 year career as an advocate for children began while working for Delaware’s Children, Youth and Families Department where she worked as a social worker for abused and neglected children, a juvenile probation officer and a regulator of children’s programs. Since retiring in 2011, she has been enjoying her time as a wife, mother, grandmother, writer, consultant and mentor in the Delaware public school system.
