This new series seeks to guide novices through the basic dos and donts of fishing. From stocking a tackle box and baiting a hook to landing and cleaning a fish, young anglers will learn how to properly prepare for any fishing outing. Contextualizing the ancient history of fishing with tips on how to be respectful of nature and other anglers, each text works with the others to compile a comprehensive look at the sport. A concluding activity encourages readers to create their own forms of fishing gear. A primer on the basic dos and donts of fishing, including tips on choosing a proper rod and reel, advice on how to land a catch, and instructions for making a landing net.
