Whidbey, the lovely little island in Puget Sound, was a small world that could be quickly filled with cruel gossip or haunting memories. Yet Ginger Cowan had stayed on long after Deuin MacPherson had married her, confessed on their wedding night he’d been unfaithful, and left for Chicago.
