Life was good for my dad John and his family in the Midwest, even with earth-shaking problems, challenges, and adventures:

Running a successful self-sufficient farm Small-town life during the Great Depression and Dust Bowl conditions in the 1930s Surviving the change from a horse economy to a gasoline economy, and from family-owned small farms to large corporate farms Life in the rural home-front during World War II Recreation without modern things like TV, internet, and computers

Dad and Mom danced their way through life. Their philosophy was to work hard, but to make plenty of time for play. I learned life’s lessons from Dad about how to succeed and be happy in life, and I want to share these lessons with you.
