Beyond Empowerment: A Pilgrimage with the Catholic Campaign for Human Development

Where do we find hope in the hard work of human development? Moving throughout the country, this pilgrimage to various worksites of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development gives us glimpses of the triumphs and joys experienced when people come together to organise and strive to reach beyond their circumstances. Each chapter focuses on a different dimension of organising and economic development, in varied regions of the United States- from New Orleans to Seattle to a Native American Indian reservation in Arizona, and more-through the voices of CCHD employees, organisers, and friends, articulating their struggles, moments of insight, and inspirations through interviews and profiles.
