Soul Search, the autobiographical journey of Jack Morgan, MD, is a rollicking back-and-forth remembrance through several decades. Many chapters are stories in themselves. Some of the lessons will encourage honest searchers to believe and to receive help, direction, and purpose in their own lives.

After adoption by loving parents, Jack grew up expected to value hard work and education. Though he was prepared in many ways and afforded many opportunities as a youth, those advantages didn't seem to help at his most critical turning points.

None of Jack's close family or friends ever worked in the medical field. Jack never desired to teach, write, speak publicly, or care for the sick or disabled. On the contrary! Yet, all of this eventually became his calling.

Dr. Morgan received a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary foreign studies. Following his MD degree and residency at The University of Michigan, he became board certified in two specialties.

Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he consulted at a number of medical facilities, serving, teaching, and helping to establish several new programs. He spoke at numerous medical meetings, conferences, colleges, and universities, and he was interviewed on TV and radio. He was also invited to be a surveyor for The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.

Jack enjoyed climbing, hiking, skiing, fencing, and travel before marriage, and after that he shared many of those activities with Shari, his soulmate of over fifty years. They were blessed with two sons and grandchildren. They also volunteered with young people, from preschoolers to seminarians.
