Hack Ayer’s remarkable story as a fatherless child from Stinking Creek to one of the most successful businessmen of the region, and his contribution to the citizens, state, and local government are to be highly commended. But I am even more impressed by Hack Ayers, the man. He is the son of the Appalachian Mountains and he loves and cherishes his kith and kin with a passion.
