The years between the 1996 and 2000 were significant in the metropolis of Detroit, Michigan. A stellar community figure - Mr. Kostas Karakostas - after over 30 years decided to give up the radio program at WXYZ. The author and his son - Dino Karakostas - took over for a short time, and then by early 1997, the author was left by himself to carry out the ethnic radio program. However, because of the demand of the listeners the program was extended to a two hour format and it was moved to WCAR. When the program ended at the end of 2000, many listeners started to request some of the programs that I had talked about. The requests increased as time went on and this book is in response to these requests. Specifically, this book is an anthology of some of the topics that were discussed over the four year period. The work is divided into two volumes. Volume one is in the Greek Language and the second one is in English. The topics vary from politics, to religion, to science, and miscellaneous items. Of importance is the chronological events of St. George parish in Southgate, MI. Many programs were devoted to this parish because of the problems that the Parish Council, the Priest and the hierarchy of the Church refused to address. As a consequence the parish was demoralized and most of the parishioners left. In the appendices of both volumes the reader will see some of the letters that were sent to reflect the frustration and inability to bring harmony in the parish.
