Paris Noir: The Suburbs

Paris Noir is one of the most successful overseas editions on the series; in addition to Akashic’s English translation, the anthology was published in its original language and was also translated into German and Brazilian Portuguese. Paris Noir: The Suburbs features brand-new stories, all written in French, by Cloe Mehdi, Karim Madani, Insa Sane, Christian Roux, Marc Villard, Jean-Pierre Rumeau, Timothee Demeillers, Rachid Santaki, Marc Fernandez, Guillaume Balsamo, Anne Secret, Anne-Sylvie Salzman, and Patrick Pecherot.
The stories were translated by Katie Shireen Assef, David Ball, Nicole Ball, and Paul Curtis Daw. The Cultural Services of the French Embassy will likely be awarding a translation grant to Akashic and in general are very proactive in promoting French authors translated and published in English in the US.
