New International Strategic Context for Space Policies

Both military and civilian components of space technologies are used for modern countries or nations anxious to develop rapidly as well as to structure their identity as autonomous states. This idea recently drew some major powers to think about means of limitations for others, rather than themselves, based on the strategic advantages provided by the mastering of space systems (launchers and satellites), paving the way for a possible weaponisation of space.
