Legend graduated as a Private First Class with Platoon 2093, the honor platoon of Hotel Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion at Parris Island, South Carolina. He was recognized by his drill instructors and earned an early promotion due to performing exceptionally well in recruit training. The puppy-Marine had a brown and white furry face that lit up when he received a paw-shake from his senior drill instructor.
