This book demonstrates that the Pietist revival on the continent of Europe in the 18th century was an important source of the Wesley brothers’ understanding of a two-staged order of salvation. This book also shows that the Protestant vision of a globalized Christianity can be traced back to the voices of praying children in Eastern Euopre in a spontaneous children’s revival set amid religious warfare entailing massive loss of life and propety. Johann Adam Steinmetz was the preacher of that revival who focused on being sealed with the Spirit. This book contains a translation of his Pentecost Addresses which influenced Methodism through Christian David.
