Nazi War Criminals
Don Nardo
At the end of World War II, the victorious Allies decided to put Nazi Germanys leaders on trial for their many crimes against humanity, including the attempted genocide known as the Holocaust. The Nazis supreme leader, Adolf Hitler, had committed suicide as Germany was collapsing, so he could not be punished. However, hundreds of his generals, assistants, and henchmen were tried in the German town of Nuremberg, while hundreds more fled, setting in motion a global effort to bring these war criminals to justice.
