Concluding the fantasy trilogy by Nebula Award nominee Robin Bailey!
For three hundred years the Dragons and all the Dragonkin have taken refuge from the world of Men. Now the winds of change are shivering across the forest. There can be no more hiding and no more retreat. The dangers have never been greater, the peril never more dire. The fates of well-loved creatures hang in the balance, and when the fires and ashes settle, the world called Undersky will never be the same.
The three talismans containing the last drops of magic left in the world have been found and reunited in Wyvernwood. From the Haunted Lands in the west, Chan has returned with the Glass Dragon. From the bowels of Redclaw on the northern border of Wyvernwood, itself, Luna has returned with the Heart of all Dragons. Most surprising and troubling of all, the Dragon Ronaldo has returned from the ravaged island of Thursis in the East with the Diamond Dragon.
Now revealed as the true first-born son of Stormfire, Ronaldo incurs the jealous wrath of Harrow, the eldest-by-minutes of the triplets. Hot-tempered Harrow feels cheated of his destiny and his heritage. He, not Ronaldo, should have found the talisman. How can he ever hope to be chosen as the Dragonkin’s next leader?
But the citizens of Wyvernwood have more immediate problems. Degarm has poisoned the Blackwater River, which is the main artery of the forest. Worse, the king of Angmar, enraged by the death of his own son at Thursis, has sent his army across the border in an all-out attack with one supreme order–burn the forest!
Nor are these the only threats. The end of Wyvernwood seems certain.
Praise for Dragonkin Book One
Sharp, witty writing… Plenty of action and extremely lyrical text… This novel is recommended for school and public libraries with fantasy collections. –Voya
