WPA Technical Series: Research and Records Bibliography No. 7; Revised April 1943. This work was originally prepared by the Work Projects Administration (formerly the Works Progress Administration), and entitled WPA Research and Records Bibliography No. 4, dated September 12, 1940, and Research and Records Bibliography No. 4, revised, issued September 1, 1941. With this printing, the publication was reissued with the title Bibliography of Research Projects Reports: Check List of Historical Records Survey Publications, revised April 1943, which better reflects the content of the book. This is the final listing of Historical Records Survey publications issued between 1936 and 1943, which were prepared under various names and several related federal programs. Included in these publications are transcriptions of state, county, town and municipal records, taken from the various archives that provide detailed information accumulated by each governing body and that depict important and relevant historical data to the genealogist and historian. Many of the records transcribed included minutes of meetings, matters taken before the court, and the work product of various commissions and boards. Also of vital interest to researchers are listings of what reports or publications are available for the various states, counties, and municipalities, and, more importantly, where those publications are located.
