Please Forgive Me

Elaine is growing increasingly frustrated by Laurel’s refusal to allow her to help her financially and by Laurel’s long hours at the bookstore. A coworker, Myra Reardon begins to turn on the charm at work. After intercepting a message from Myra to Elaine, Laurel jumps to the conclusion that Elaine is having an affair and heads to the local bar to hide behind a beer. In her search, she passes by the bar and sees Laurel’s car and soon finds out that Laurel left with a woman. Assuming the worse, Elaine goes home and packs her suitcase and goes to a hotel. When Laurel finds that Elaine has moved out, she closes up the house, closes the store, and then she drives to the coast to start her new life. During the slow process of finally coming to grips with what she sees as Elaine’s betrayal, Laurel eventually finds an inner peace that has been missing for several years. But is it too late to rebuild something with Elaine?
