Accounts, legends, and traditions of Eternal Cuba. Nostalgic stories of a Free Cuba that no longer exists, and of roads already traveled that we want to visit again through these readings, although we know we cannot go back or hope to return.
The thunderous roar of a powerful cannon developed by a Colonel in Antonio Maceo’s troops, the regrettable death of the intrepid Chacumbele, and the galloping rescue of a prized Cuban prisoner as he was escorted by a daunting Spanish regiment. Those are three of the 32 Cuban tales, accounts and real life stories that are featured in this book. Stories like these are popular tales that are part of the informal chronicle of a nation.
