Jean Emile Auguste Bernard (1843-1902) was a French Romantic composer and organist. His Divertissement for Doubled Wind Quintet, Op. 36 was first written for the Societe des Instruments a Vent (Society of Wind Instruments) in Paris. First published by Durand around 1888, this melodic gem has been embraced in the woodwind chamber repertory. It is comprised of three movements: 1. Andante sostenuto - Allegro molto moderato, 2. Allegro vivace, and 3. Andante - Allegro non troppo.
