Tales, Then and Now: More Folktales As Literary Fictions for Young Adults

This book offers a critical analysis of the reworkings of and commentary on traditional folk and fairy tales. Chapters are organized by tale theme. In each chapter, the authors summarize and discuss the tales, give a chronological overview of the critical interpretations, then list the tale’s reworkings, organized chronologically and by form. Internet resources are cited, and classroom extensions and bibliographies follow.
