My purpose in writing is, first, to lift up the concept that the individual, whatever his or her station in life or aptitude, plays no small part in the fulfillment of the Lord’s will in the world, writes Baker. He adds that this collection came together out of a long-standing interest in these biblical personalities as individuals in whom we can see our potential selves.

In the process of sharpening such an insight it will become increasingly evident that, given the chance, faith will overcome frailty.

Gordon Pratt Baker, Glenn Burnie, Maryland, is an ordained Untied Methodist minister with 42 years in active service. For 16 of those years he was editor of evangelistic material used by churches of several denominations. This is his third CSS book.
