Baillie’s most recent novel, The Search for Heinrich Schloegel (Tin House) was an Oprah editors’ pick, and received a boxed and starred review in Publishers Weekly.
Her 2009 novel, The Incident Report, was longlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize. Baillie is well-connected in the art world, having written for the Art Gallery of Ontario and the Koffler Gallery. Her multimedia installation, The Schloegel Archive, was well-received during the 2015 CONTACT Photography Festival.
