This book is an excellent resource for anyone, African American or Caucasian, who seek to find information on deceased ancestors during the period covered in the book. The author has done superb work in transcribing and compiling the death notices which are alphabetized and includes an index. There is no need to physically go to Farmerville, Louisiana to research The Gazette death notices or peruse them online. Barbara has it all in her new book and you will not be disappointed.
