Scoobernut and Doopendoo are names uttered by my sister when we were young children. Over time, we used the names interchangeably to refer to each other or to pets. On a family camping trip, someone said Scoobernut and Doopendoo would be a great name for a book. The story was born on the car ride home. I turned to my fianc, who was driving, and said, I have it! What about a squirrel and a nut who become best friends? He loved the idea. I immediately called my sister and brother-in-law, and they both loved it too. From there, I was off. I hope that the bond these two unlikely characters form and the adventures they have together will create fond memories for parents and children alike.
