Although Annette has spent most of her life working with emotionally challenged people, she has chosen to write about her own life. This book is about her unique heritage, childhood and adult life. It portrays her deep secrets she did not trust with her colleagues. She had many of the same problems her clients battled. The victory came because of a supernatural light that shown brightly in her life. Endorsement: Annette Johnston gripped my heart through her book Light Devoured the Darkness. Her honesty and transparency revealed the heartache of her younger years, as she unfolds her story, with humility and truth. This book will give hope to all who open their heart to the faithful God whose grace is enough for all things. Lynne Nofi, Author and Elementary Educator Annette Johnston is a first time author, mother grandmother and great grandmother. During the post depression era, she was born in Harlem NY to an immigrant mother and a US southern father. Most of her childhood was spent in the Bronx NY. At 12 year sold, her family moved to rural Long Island. Annette is an RN with BS and MS degrees and has a Nurse Practitioner license in Psychiatry. She has traveled the globe in and out of the US. Her travels have brought her to Puerto Rico, Panama, Antigua, Curacao, Jamaica, England, Wales, Germany, Holland, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda and India. Retirement to her means doing whatever she feels God is calling her to do.
