When author Constance Saizon told her mother she felt called to be a woman pastor, her mother was apprehensive at first about the calling. The storms continued when she suffered in an abusive marriage with her alcoholic husband and also experienced a trial of her doing with a gambling addiction. However, Constance saw these trials as God having other plans for her destiny, leading her path to becoming a United Methodist pastor and using her experiences to help others in similar situations.
