Sherline J. Smith is a native of Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. She grew up in the Caring and Sharing Orphanage, which was founded and supported by missionaries and churches in Detroit, Michigan. In 2001, she was blessed to come to the United States to pursue her dream of getting a College education. She attended Florida Memorial University in Miami, FL. After overcoming many challenges and obstacles, Mrs. Smith earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Mrs. Smith speaks English, French, Creole and Spanish. She is a professional educator who enjoys making a difference in the lives of both children and adults. She has taught for ten years in both the Christian and Public school systems in Detroit and Miami. Mrs. Smith is also a Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She has been sharing God’s love with the broken-hearted since 2008. She received biblical training at The Word Church International in Miami, FL, where she served as a minister under the leadership of Pastor Robert L. Young, and from Faith Bible Institute in Detroit, MI, through the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. She is currently a student at Heritage Center for Religious Studies (Third New Hope Church) in Detroit, MI. One of Mrs. Smith’s future goals is to use her ministry, education, and experience to continue the legacy of Florence Moffett (the missionary who raised her in Haiti) to bring hope to thousands of children. She believes in reaching back as she progresses forward. Her favorite scripture is Proverbs 3: 5 & 6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path. Mrs. Smith attends the New Bethel Baptist Church (Pastor Robert Smith, Jr.) and the Agape Bible Church (Pastor Conderidge Smith) in Detroit, Michigan. She is married to Conderidge R. Smith through whom she was blessed with two wonderful children Joshua R. Smith and Grace Elizabeth Smith. They are expecting an addition to the family soon.
