I have sat and listened to Joe tell various stories and history of Piggott, Arkansas and am amazed at the detail that he can communicate, never using notes and always from the heart. Because of his knowledge of our past and his unique relationship with most of the people that he describes, he has an ability to take a simple news article and build it into a memorable story. This book may focus on the story of Piggott, Arkansas during World War II, but it is really a story that comes from every community in the Heartland of American.
