In Dedication to Nori

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

It is time for us to learn about Christ and to teach our children about Him. What better way to do that than going back to the basic alphabet that we all learned in grade school. We should be able to describe Christ from A to Z. We are reminded by Christ to humble ourselves as little children so that we may see the kingdom of heaven. Why is that? It is because children recognize their sole dependence on their parents. Children depend on their parents comfort, love, and guidance. Parents help children to build trust, esteem, and morale. A child looks for his parent to hold their hand when crossing the street, and to console them when they are crying. They hunger and thirst for their parents. If we have the mindset of a child, then maybe we will have that same craving for Christ. God is our Father. We should look to Him for the same love, guidance, and support that we once sought from our own parents when we were children.

Let’s go back to being a child again and start with the basics. This time let’s recite our ABC’s with new meaning and purpose as we recognize our sole dependence on God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 18:2-7
And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
