The Emotionally Connected Classroom: Wellness and the Learning Experience

Anxious, stressed-out children are becoming the norm and teaching in a traditional way is no longer working. The process of learning is an emotionally charged one and many of life’s most important attachments will be made at school. The classroom may be the perfect environment to engineer healthy developmental attachments and systematically repair neural dysregulations that impair the capacity to learn. Bill Adair, a high school teacher, worked with an emotional addiction specialist to develop a new therapeutic model that is showing great results in the classroom and is described in this book. It addresses the emotional hurdles of learning with daily connection intentions (the Six Ps) and a simple 1-2-3 therapeutic learning approach that specifically targets unhealthy attachments and forges a new and empowering story for learning.
