As an educator in the city of Baltimore, I would often hear words from male students like I can’t do it or I’m not smart. This mindset began to be reflected in their classwork and in their behavior. I decided to do something about it. My desire is to change the narrative surrounding young boys of color and build them up. Words are powerful. They are seeds of potential watered by unwavering belief. I want to plant consistent seeds of positivity into the minds of our youth that will leave no room for inferiority to exist. This book contains 12 illustrated daily affirmations for young boys of color to read aloud every day. Parents can also participate by reading the affirmations to their child as well. This book will empower young boys of color everywhere to always be mindful of the king within.
