It’s the 1970’s and Pastor John Larson is young, handsome, and completely dedicated to the Lord and His calling. He’s just settled into his new ministry at the Pleasant Pastures Community Church in Eastern Washington. Wendy Baker is young, beautiful and incredibly damaged. After growing up in chaos and dysfunction, Wendy finds her life spiraling downhill fast. She seeks out a church in hopes of finding answers to her issues, but is rejected simply because of the way she’s dressed. Upon leaving the church she experiences a glimmer of hope when she meets Kevin, a young Jesus Freak. But sadly, within a short time, she suffers a devastating loss, causing her to finally give up and letting life take her where it will. But Nick, her gangster boss, has plans for Wendy. He wants her to move from topless dancing to prostitution. At the urgent warning of an inner voice, Wendy runs away and eventually into the arms of Pastor John Larson. Their love grows, but so does Wendy’s anxiety. Would her new friends at church be quite so accepting if they knew her past? She is about to find out.
