Viriato Henriques was a direct descendent of the first King of Portugal, Alfonse Henriques of the 12th century. As a Portuguese nobleman Viriato lived a life of privilege. But he decided he wanted to dance, travel the world, and introduce all kinds of dancing everywhere he went. He gave up all of his wealth and possibilities so he could pursue his dream, which was to eventually arrive in New York City and dance there.
When he got to the States, now calling himself Bill Henriques, he decided to write down the adventures of his life so far, from his early high position to his current status as a poor dancer waiting for his next job, so that one day he would read them and remember it all. These random scribblings were kept in a metal box and never read by anyone else until one fateful day.
This book is the result of the first time someone finally read all that was in that box…
