This book makes use of mathematics to characterize plane and three-dimensional star figures beginning with the familiar five-point star and continuing through N-point star figures. Included in the analyses is the development of conditions under which a three-dimensional star can be constructed merely by appropriately folding a plane sheet of paper. A very intriguing aspect of the overall geometric features is that the golden ratio or golden section appears at certain points in the relationships. Many other geometric aspects are explored. Principles of physics are used in analyzing the passage of light through solid star bodies composed of materials such as glass, diamond, etc. Many amazing features are revealed regarding the calculated paths of light beams traversing solid star-shaped bodies.
