Alaska Transit continues the adventures of Anchorage Detective Sasha Kulaeva as she attempts to stem the flow of Afghani heroin into Alaska. Her work began in the first book in the series, Traffic North, which took Sasha to Dutch Harbor in the Aleutian Islands, and then to Vladivostok, on the Pacific Ocean. In Alaska Transit, Sasha must return to Russia, to Chelyabinsk this time, near the Russian border with Kazakhstan. From there, she follows the drug dealers onto the TransSiberian Railroad, back to Vladivostok. It’s a rough go.
