I wrote "Sweet and Sour"--either because there was too much inside of me and I had to scream it out or because there was nothing inside of me and I had to fill it out. I was struggling between two different worlds, and Sweet and Sour was what came out of it. You will read about the beauty in a cup of tea as well as the beast-natured humans who stoned a girl. This book is mostly written by my fourteen-year-old self who was trying to build herself from ashes to be the one who will remember the screams of the girls and women in Afghanistan and to fit in into a new environment where there are really few people like her.
