As well as being an accomplished writer, Falkner was also a successful businessman, becoming chairman of the weapons manufacturer Armstrong Whitworth in the First World War. Other notable works by this author include: The Lost Stradivarius (1895), and The Nebuly Coat (1903). Read & Co. is now republishing this classic work in a new edition complete with a specially commissioned new biography of the author.
