This book is about two sisters who lived with their father and were all middle-class citizens until their father was caught tax evading and went to prison. As the girls struggled to live a normal life without their father, they ended up living in a homeless shelter until they met a wonderful family that took them in. But, before the book ends, the girls' father gets out of prison, and the girls get back on their feet.
