My Self- Discovery Journal is the title of self-published author, Petra V. Ovia. The sole purpose of My Self-Discovery Journal is to increase self-esteem and self-awareness within the female population. Due to Petra’s past history of low-self-esteem and self-awareness her goal is to encourage readers to explore who they are through her self-discovery process. She believes this journal will help females see that in order for one to increase their level of self-esteem and self-awareness they must first change their process of thinking. This journal is equipped with her process of self-discovery along with self-assessments, challenges, and space provided for self-expression. Petra V. Ovia tested the effectiveness of My Self-Discovery Journal after administering a 3-week course with 29 female students at Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous) located in Kerala, India. This course measured their level of self-esteem and self-awareness using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (1985) along with the Self-Discovery Questionnaire before and after the course. Results indicated that the journal increased the students level of self-esteem and self-awareness.
