I share my very fondest memories of a relationship that developed and grew very strong between a disabled client and me, as her caregiver. I tell how my client had become disabled due to a surgical procedure that had to be performed based upon a life - death situation.
In my story, I share how my client and I were able to communicate without words. I tell of the many times I spent with her sharing biblical scriptures that I had been introduced to through my Bible Study class at my church.
I also tell about the numerous different ways I tried to recreate and stimulate her memory through different tactics. I describe my feelings of excitement when I first began to notice that she was beginning to interact with her environment. I tell about these slight responses from her and how I felt as those responses began to increase.
I share the joy I experience in the weekly care of this lovely woman with the luscious, green, icy but warm, loving, green eyes. Lastly, I share the pain and agony I experienced on the day I watched her slip away.
