Dr. Goodell has been a pastor for over sixty years. He has been involved in church planting in the United States, Haiti, Romania, and the former Soviet Union. Under the Reagan Administration, Guy worked with a presidential staff member, Dr. Bob Billings, and smuggled Bibles into the Soviet Empire. He has traveled frequently to Russia since the breakup of the Soviet Union, and he has also ministered in the Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia, and other of the former Soviet states.For the twenty years Guy and his wife were involved in church reclamation and church planting, they also held family life conferences, teaching young people how to establish and develop Christian relationships. This led to the creation of the Strength for Living counseling center for dealing with personal growth, problem solving, and family management.For twenty-five years, Guy conducted seminars for the New England Association of Christian Schools, encouraging and developing teacher skills for managing traditional classroom settings. He has also been engaged in educational programs developed around individualized study. Guy has earned the following degrees: A.A., B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. He has taught at major colleges, universities, and seminaries in the United States and in Russia. Presently, he is pastor of Greater Glens Falls Bible Baptist Church in Hudson Falls, New York, and he is writing and publishing books to encourage and edify believers. He is a regular contributor to The Baptist Bread, a daily devotional booklet edited by Evangelist Tim Green.In volumes one and two of Stories of the Heart, Guy has collected accounts from his personal experiences in church planting, Christian education, and foreign missionary outreach.
